I recently became one of the proud owners of a new pair of "maximalist" running shoes.
Maximalist shoes, as they are referred to in this post from www.active.com, illustrate the move from some of the shoes that have popular with fans of barefoot or more natural running.
This is a very personal decision. I find added support helps keep me away from injuries. Check out this post for some additional perspective on this issue.

Winter Runs
Not all of us enjoy winter running.
However, there are conditions when running outside in the colder weather sure beats running on an indoor track or treadmill. Running outdoors in the right conditions can actually be scenic and I find it to be relaxing at times.
Read Jess Runs blog for more perspective on winter running. The key to winter running is to "layer up" for the right temperatures and take care to avoid icy or slippery conditions.
