Don't Forget Recovery

If you are in the middle of getting ready for some races, don't forget your recovery.

This post from the Jess Runs blog highlights some great post-run recovery activities. She uses stretching and rollers to help recover from runs.  Rest and yoga are also helpful recovery tools in the middle of training season.
Make sure to give yourself plenty of recovery . . . and avoid injuries.

Exercise At Home

One doesn't always have to go to the gym or take to the streets to workout.

What about doing some easy exercises at home?  Or what about using a workout videos?  There are plenty of workouts on the various fitness channels as well.
Here's another idea - use your stairs.  Check out this workout from the Fit Mom's Blog.  All you need to do this workout at home is a staircase.

Transition To Race Season

Finally, warm weather is here and it's time to think about training during race season.

Perhaps you have already done a race or two.  But these tips from triathlon coach Ben Greenfield at www.active.com make sense as we move to the outdoors for our training activities.

Cool New Yoga Mat

It's like Twister meets "paint-by-numbers".

Elizabeth Morrow, a Boston-area woman, designed a new yoga mat for use among people with physical limitations.  The mat is labeled with numbers to help make poses easier for participants.
